Student Partnership Agreement
2026-2029
The Student Partnership Agreement is a dedicated mechanism which sets out how the University of the Highlands and Islands (Â鶹ֱ²¥) and Highlands and Islands Students' Association (HISA) can work together on issues raised directly by students.
The agreement sets out how students and staff will work together from 2026 to 2029 to improve the student experience across Â鶹ֱ²¥ and its academic partners. Its priorities are selected through a student vote following a review of survey results and other student feedback.
What is a Student Partnership Agreement?
The agreement sets out how students and staff will work together from 2026 to 2029 to improve the student experience across Â鶹ֱ²¥ and its academic partners. In fact, Â鶹ֱ²¥ was the first in Scotland to introduce an student partnership agreement!
The Student Partnership Agreement framework was developed as a result of the Post-16 Education Green Paper which concluded that universities should use them to structure partnership working with their students’ association.
Each Student Partnership Agreement runs for a three-year period, with the current agreement running from 2026 to 2029. If you would like further information, or would like to get involved, please email hisa@uhi.ac.uk
The 2026-2029 Student Partnership Agreement
Representatives from Â鶹ֱ²¥ and HISA meet frequently to co-ordinate the work of the Student Partnership Agreement. Each theme has a dedicated ‘cluster group’ of staff and student representatives with relevant experience:
- Theme 1: Action on the cost-of-living crisis
- Theme 2: Improved student community
