Â鶹ֱ²¥ Centre for History part of Dornoch Autumn Highland Festival again in 2026

Dr Nicola Martin and Dr Jim MacPherson are once again delivering talks for Dornoch's annual Autumn Highland Festival. The event brings together a busy programme of events, with two weeks of fine food, whisky, history, heritage, golf, music, celebration and more.

Jacobitism and Clanship in the North Highlands

Nicola's talk will explore the North Highlands’ experiences of the Jacobite era (1688-1766), considering what drove clans, or individuals, to declare for one side or another and how this changed over the eighteenth century.
